The Ins and Outs of Screen

Screen printing deposits the maximum amount of ink, thus affording a tremendous range of color, finishes, durability, and opacity. It is the most versatile medium for printing and creates graphics on a wide variety of materials, and includes the use of exotic inks such as conductive and reflective. This system utilizes individual formulated colors that are matched to the Pantone system or combined into a spectrum of color using a four color process (cyan, magenta, yellow, black). Print quality is represented by DPI (dots per inch). The higher the dot count the sharper the resolution.

When to Use Screen Printing

For substrates like vinyl, hard plastics such as Lexan, or other substrates that require a thick laydown of ink for added scratch-resistance and durability.
For designs that need a limited range of bold, solid colors without the pixelation you get from some digital presses
For limited run, wide-format jobs that can be run on traditional web presses.
